To be a massage licensed therapist, not only do you need to have knowledge of massage, you would also need to have enough knowledge about the local statutes of the local governing law just so that you do not land up in the wrong side of the law.

Canada provides a title of Registered Massage Therapist after the individual has finished 2-3 years of intensive training. The individuals should have passed the provincial theory and practical examinations and be registered with the college of medical therapists. The certification laws are equally as complicated in the United States ensuring that the massage therapists can be called upon as Healthcare professionals who uphold ethical practice.
